Almeria is a small seaside city in the southern part of Spain, located in the Andalusian region, attracting people with its warm climate and sympathetic texture.If you are in Madrid, you can reach to Almeria in about eight hours with bus or you can reach Almeria by train in six hours. If you want, the city also has an airport that you can reach via indirect access.

Almeria is a small but full touristic city. With its regular city structure, easy-to-reach beaches and historical texture Almeria is suitable for sea tourism and also it has a structure that embraces the history of Andalusia.

The most important structure of the city is Alcazaba Castle. Alcazaba Castle is a fortress where the Andalusian caliph had built on the top of the hill, to protect it from pirates, and it has a structure dominating both the sea and the city with a bird's eye view. The castle literally has Islamic architecture.

You can see that in the strict sense of in the both interior decoration and the exterior architecture.bYou can get a little tired when you climb the castle, so I suggest you to climb in the morning without waiting the lunch time. By the way, I would like to mention that if you go to Almeria, you can go to Granada about an hour away from Almeria and you can visit the Palace of Al Hamra. I can say that it is the most magnificent palace of the Andalusian region.

The city center is small but enough to meet your needs. You can find everything that you need, although there are not as many options as other big cities in the country. Even the big supermarkets do not open on Sunday. I can say that life is totally stopping and returning to a full holiday.

The city center has a coastal section of 1.5 km in length. Although open to the public, it is clean and adequate. You can find cafes and small pubs on the coast. You can also have nice conversations in these venues, and you can watch the sunset from the opposite side shore of Morocco.

Apart from that, there is also a nudist camp in Cabo De Gata, just outside the city. If you prefer you can go there and live a different experience. Generally it is a little more deserted area, so people can move in comfort.

There are many options for nightlife. Nightclubs and bars in different styles are open up to the morning. Among the places which I visit, Mae West is the best option I can recommend.

As the matter of fact that the first things that comes to mind in Spanish style are the Tapas and then the clubs. If you get hungry at night, you might be able to snack something at the doner shops which are open up to the morning. But I have to say that all markets are closing at 22.00. The only place open after 22.00 is the 24/7 market in the Zapillo area, but it is also selling very expensive. Shop with this in mind.

You can also provide transportation by bus or a taxi because the town is small . You can get tickets from the drivers in the buses, you do not have to look for tickets. In brief, you can choose Almeria for a little getaway and a different holiday. But I suggest that not to belong.
